Here is a piece of information I learned from the "school of hard knocks". When collecting data to animate, use the orientation the animation software uses.
For ME'scope, the X axis is left on the screen, the Y axis points out of the screen and the Z axis is vertical.
If this orientation is used when collecting the data, no adjustment needs to be made when populating the program.
Be sure that if the accelerometer has to be reversed 180˚, you make the correction.

I agree Jon. For ODS and Modal testing a person should formulate a technique and stick with it. Don't change things because that opens the door for errors to occur.
