We have to do switching over of parallel equipment like pumps, compressors etc from A to B, back to A and so on? Can we switch over eqpt in Maximo and capture their calendar running hours automactically minus breakdown hours from work orders?

Josh,
If ever you went over to a duty/standby regime with a regular swiching schedule in the SOPs, you will find find that the physical informatuion is easily visible in the Plant (i.e. all A pumps , compressors etc running at the same time). In fact if you do see a B pump running, it tells you tehre is something wrong and you can investigate it. The running hour record is a simple excel spreadsheet job, no need for running hour meters etc. The need for this info. in the CMMS becomes less critical, but you can use it if your syytem is suitably configured.

I guess Operations have to keep the table of the equipment switching. Is this practiced in North Sea?
