Hi,

I'm working at mining company which have 60 plants, 200 off-highway trucks and shipyards, railways, locomotives and other equipaments. We are using MAXIMO 5.2 but we have had a lot of problems like interfaces, user friendly problems, database access and customizations. We'be made a lot of diagonostics between some alternatives and decide to choice the MAXIMO 6.2 solution. Is there anyone who have been (or being) any similary experience? It would be great if we talk a little bit more.

Thanks,

Hi Leonardo,

Myself and a team are actually working with CVRD Inco folks in Toronto on the integration of Ellipse with Oracle E-Business.

I've got lots of experience with Maximo. I know that CVRD Inco uses our product, eMESA to alleviate user friendly problems with Mincom Ellipse. Some of our customers use eMESA with Maximo to help solve some of those issues you speak of.

Perhaps that would be a possible solution?

Feel free to e-mail me Bart.Lorang @ dts-global.com as I think we could help you out!

Bart

Leo,

Did you get proper data for meaningful analyses and KPIs?

Leo, your situation reminds me of an old saying, "if your head hurts from being hit in the head with a hammer, why would the solution be to use a bigger hammer?"

Hi Leo,
MAXIMO 6.2 is better for managing KPI's, Condition Based Monitoring, and user screens. Each start center can be personalized for individual users. There is also software called Rulesmanager (Sold by TRM) that is an effective way of controlling the software to ensure you maintain configuration reqirements. Many user friendly issues in many industries have been resolved by training. If the people are not trained hands on, and periodically refreshed you will likely fail with any software. We manage MAXIMO implementations and upgrades all over the world for a wide and diverse customer base i.e. Navy, Northrup Grumann, Department of Interior, National Parks, USGS, Target, and numerous utilities companies. Every time we run in to "User Friendly" issues the root cause can be attributed to, a lack of training, system configuration, or the understanding of the design limits of the software. Let me know if I can help you with specific User Issues. I will be glad to help you with your questions.
Kind Regards,
Roger Harris CMRP, CPMM
