Hi to evrybody,
Does anybody met such problem of making the maintenance on Machine Sets?
E.g. we have the unit of motor, gear and pump, we have sequenced PM for this unit with base fequency 5000 hrs, but after 30000 hours we have to replace the motor with new one (new equipment and meter reading from 0 but only for motor). What is beter in this case? making 3 PMs separately on machine level or making one PM on unit level?

My first question is what was the root cause of the motor failure? Did it have anything to do with the PM frequency?

Work order generation costs money and that should be considered.

Are you multi-crafting the work order? Is the motor electrical PM being done on the same job plan as the motor lube and pump PM? Does the pump run continuously or cycle? What are the historical failures on the pump or similar pumps?

If there are no issues with the PM content you may want to consider short cycling the PM on the pump to align the new motor to the pump set.

These are issues you will need to evaluate based upon your individual situation.

I forget what I just said, I wasn't listening.
