Our company is in the process of switching from datastream's MP2 to MRO's Maximo. Has anyone alread accomplished this huge endeavor? And, if so, what would you do different? What were the obstacles that needed to be overcome? What was simple? Etc.
Anyone's experience would be greatly valued.

I was recently informed, that we will also be switching from MP2 to MAXIMO. I don't have a timeline yet, for the change, but I am anxious to learn anything, that anyone can contribute.

Hi,

We have the same situation to switch from MP2 to Maximo. I just wonder whether all the data are transferable otherwise the set up will be a huge job.

a company in which i worked couple of years ago switched from one very old system to maximo.

most of intelectual effort was put in cooperating with software company which was in charge to create interface for data transfer.
later there was some additions to the interface, but rest of that very large job was mainly physical, we needed to setup organization that will promote accuracy and overcome monothony.

of course, before data transfer, maximo had to be completely set up, but that part of job is the same as if you are buying new software without having old one.

How did this go?

I just recently helped a company migrate from MP2 to Maximo. Not too bad.
