I had a good look at the "cmms best practice" document published and it just
highlighted something I hope to get some advice on.

I have a client that implemented EAM in 1998, although we do not do the
initial implementation we did the recent upgrade.
Our maintenance consultants worked with the client extensively and revised
and optimized their maintenance strategy as an organization and we are also
busy formalizing a management administration strategy whereby we focus on
the interpretation of reports(data).

As I mentioned earlier this system has been in use for a +- 8years now, but I
think we will very soon have to do a check or auditrather of what we have in terms
of data and how reliable that data is from a system point of view.
What I am looking at is if there is a more formal way to audit the
effective use of EAM systems in general and by doing that establish the
accuracy of the data(history)

Any advise on this will be highly appreciated.

Regards
Leon Booysen

Which areas of data you want to audit, WO history or master data? For the WO data, I attach the file which specifies the minimum fields (for reliability & cost monitoring) which should be entered by maint personnel with proper data while using the EAM system, in my view. I believe the master data should be audited as well. Maybe you can share the audit results in this forum later on. TQ
