Does anyone have a list of failure codes that can be used in a cmms/eam system that they would share?

Why do you think that the cmms/eam vendors do not include a more comprehensive set of failure codes with the initial system?

How specific do you think codes need to be? Is there a point at which you have too many codes?

I guess the CMMS vencor would think the client knows better and vice versa.

I would think it would be tough to provide universal failure codes across different industries e.g. oil & gas versus nuke due to different types of equipment used. We can standardize for similar equipment such as heat exchangers, leaving specific equipment out such as nuclear reactors, steam reformers, refinery crackers etc. to be defined by the experts. It may be easier to adopt and adapt within the same industry.
