Not exactly sure what you're referring to. ...

Well, what I mean with processes is the way you are working today and the way you will have to work tomorrow with a piece of software. And this way is defined by the software if you can't customize or do not customize.
Reports are the result of inputs. So should carefully check what outputs are required (today and tomorrow) to ensure that you do not collect data that is not required for reporting.

It sounds simple just to change the software if there is a better solution. But reality shows that this is again a big job. Both time consuming and expensive.

First of all, no offense to CWorks, but I was not even remotely impressed regardless of the cost. As far as the pm programs are concerned, though, once this program is up and running just for work orders it will then become of the upmost importance to get a detailed pm program that has the ability to be run through the cmms program. In fact, it has to be done June of this year. There is no program in this plant and, from what I gather, hasn't been in a very long time so I am pretty much starting from scratch. Lastly, the companies that I am working with to find a program both say that they are able to adapt the program to suit us a bit more if needs arise and are warranted maintiger. In fact, the company I am most interested in says that they send out various upgrades all of the time (we'll see). Of course, since there has never even been a program for them to use for the purchasing, work orders, pm's, etc. they never really had a way to track maintenance or do any kind of reports even, but we'll "git'r dun" soon enough. Anyways, I appreciate the info everyone and you are being more helpful than you might realize. I think I am going to run with one of the programs that I've been thinking about already, but hope that you kind people will still be around later on when I get in a corner with it and need some suggestions...haha. I am going to want to use it to the fullest extent that I can but that will come with a bit of time. Talk to you guys later and PLEASE keep suggesting things here for me to watch for since the company I like most is very willing to make his program adapt to what I request as much as they are able to.
