I believe you could say I am doing the same thing. I have found a couple of inexpensive programs that seem to suit me just fine, but you might not be that interested. The websites are www.managerplus.com and www.smartwaregroup.com if you are interested. Both seem rather good, but I had a person suggest CWorks to me as well. I didn't like the free program that they have, but you can always take a look and see what you think bud.

Before looking for solutions at the market, be sure you have clear what the system must do/provide, develop the users requirements and functional specifications. Then with a complete set of requirements/specifications in hand look for solutions available.
