Who has used this Meridium's software as per the attached article below? I got this article from Reliabilityweb so I guess it's acceptable to post it here & discuss experience with its usage. Tq

I have not used it, but looking at their case studies, they are targeting big fishes Wink

Coming back to the article, some of the techniques covered we use regularly. What I love about Pareto is its simplicity to visualize data. Just make your list in excel, sort it and within a minute you have an impressive looking graph. And if you can back it up with (photo) evidence it would be even better.

Coming back to the Meridium Software, I would call it nice to have, but not essential. It pulls data from the CMMS, and represent it in a graphical way.
If the CMMS has garbage ,failure codes, problem codes, action codes missing or complete b.s. you know what will be the outcome of the software.

(un)fortunaletly we do not have a lot of analysts at our disposal (the kind that sits in front of a computer, but get lost in the plant), thus we do it the plain old human way.

List the trouble makers (equipment), shift out the crap, screening is done by two persons, and we make a nice compilation with msoffice.

Mentioning Weibull at Operations? Confused
Too complicated Big Grin

How often do you manually generate the Pareto's analysis?

Who track and gather all the data from the different depts eg operations & maintenance)?

How long does it takes for the "actors" in the Pareto's chart change? Every one year, 5 years, etc?

Weibull is complicated but interesting for reliability personnel.

Josh,

Try this:

Play with exel to try to generate the graphs yourself.

Speak to your work mates and team members regarding processes and data capture to see how best it would fit to your organizaation.

Embark on an improvement project using some of the knowledge you have gained here over the past few months and see for yourself the time it takes to change the results.

Maintenance improvement is not a spectator sport.

At least once a year, when I make my year report

Don't know, after improvement I move to the next topic, always looking for some other thing. I avoid routine in my reports

The job is still vacant Big Grin, guess there is no job description for Data-catcher

Boss, I need someone to catch running hours and other data

Boss: I thought the data was in the computers, can't you take it out?...
