svannels: Sadly true but yes, people/manpower is one of the resources or assets that requires to be planned for a maintenance order along with parts, tools, and others:
* which trades are needed
* how many man-hours of each trade
*** Are four hands required for two hours each or the job can be done by two hands alone in four hours?
* do any outside contractors are required
* with whom what has to be coordinated before start
* do another party (equipment owner, safety, ?) must do what before and/or after "we" are done?

This maybe another discussion but:
If by seniority, experience, or any other combination of factors not all technicians of same trade earns the same rate per hour, when calculating actual labor costs for an order do you use the actual rate the technician receives at the paycheck or do you calculate an average rate for each trade and use that calculated rate for the labor costs calculations.

We are using the Guru CMMS from Cedesta Systems.

The system works well. It's very easy to use but also is quite powerful with what it offers. The cost of the system is extremely pocket-friendly.

We've been using it now for a few years and it's been a great tool.

Does Guru
* Has limits on number of equipment can be registered?
* Do include spare parts management?
* Do you run the purchase requisitions in it?
* How about reporting options?

Bryan,

Our maintenance department consist of 4 technicians and two engineers.

We have guru installed on a file server with 7 users. No problems with performance. It's quite fast. I don't think I've heard anyone complain about it.
