Hello Gentleman,

I'm new to this forum and browsing through the posts I found some interesting topics. Well I'm a student and I thought I might find some help here.

I'd like to know where I can find some articles on the above subject. I know this is a vast topic but I'm more interested on how to investigate and review the capability of management systems to acquire, store and render accessible historical data of a plant's performance.

thank you.

Since no response so far, may I reply?

Are you with IT or engineering background? I guess you are refering to reliability management system. In my view, it's necessary to know first what is reliability mgmt before can evaluate their system capabilities.

Maybe you can throw your ideas here for everybody to chip in.

hello Josh,

Sorry for my late feedback. I'm from an engineering background. The subject is "Information Management for Reliability Control"
The task is to investigate and review the capability of an (equipment) management system (whether software or paper based) to acquire, store and render accessible the historical information and data on its performance (and on that of its components) that are needed for –
(a) monitoring its long-term and short term reliability and availability,
(b) identifying problem areas in those respects,

It's difficult to investigate and review the capability of such a system being relatively new to such a topic. So I thought someone might give me some guidance, through experience, expertise or knowledge or direct me to a possible source on this subject. The articles I could find give wide considerations to the features of a good CMMS but the one dealing with Reliability is not dealt is some depth.

Thanks for your help.

cheers
Rennie

Rennie:

This message was posted on another thread by Rui Assis, check it out:

For reliability analysis (including Weibull analysis), FMEA/FMECA, LCC and other issues on reliability and maintainability at large, take a look at these sites:

http://www.relexsoftware.com/products/index.asp
http://www.isograph.com/
http://www.reliasoft.com/products.htm
http://www.bqr.com/solutions.html

For RCM specifically, search the Reliasoft site at http://rcm.reliasoft.com/ or the BQR site at http://www.bqr.com/RCM.html

Hope this helps,

Rui Assis
