Why dont CMMS/EAM fullfill folowing open standards?

I spoke with Alan Johnson of Mimosa today and he reported companies such as Indus, Synergen and others do use open standards.

Today MIMOSA is an US defence standard. What I understund of the information on ther home page.

MIMOSA is not a US Defense standard. The spirit of MIMOSA is accepted by the military (the concept of open architecture). However, the US Military has made the decision that they would defer most MIL-Standards (technical) to civilian standards, such as IEEE, etc.

The change was initiated by former Secretary of Defense William Perry in 1994 as the Aquisition Reform movement.

MIMOSA is a civilian body.
