I am planning to start an inhouse reliability program by an initial investment of USD 6000.
Initial plan is to go for a vibration mearuring equipment and temperature probe. Looking at tips on selection of equipment. Should I go for a FTT analyser or a shock pulse vibration meter or a simple vobration which can just tell, if the vibration is within limit or not. Can any one lead me to some good source for equipments suggested. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Psudarsh, |

pls let us know the type of industry, types of equipments etc.Generally for analysing vibration related problems, we require vibration analyser.
Good Luck Anurag |

Auto components industry which has about 25 machining SPMs with electronic, pneumatic and Hydraulic controls a full fledged paint shop and a lot of assembly stations and conveyors. How ever assembly stations do not require any analysis. If you have any questions please let me know. |

Psudarsh,
Working in a machine shop (compressor machining) with over 60 horizontal machining centers, I can tell that your best investment will be on a simple vibration detector. Machine spindles are so well balanced by manufacturers that the smallest vibration indicates something really bad going on. At $15,000 per spindle, that is the way to go. I do not see the need for termography, unless you are in charge of the electrical distribution system too. Good luck. |
