Afaq,
Try the John Crane website. We use gas seals in steam and also nitrogen. They work very well if the gas is clean and the faces are running as true as possible. Regard, Joe Mc Cormack |

Afaq,
As Joe has indicated, dry gas seals work very well so long as they are handled with care/clenliness during installation. It will not tolerate dirt and/or moisture in the buffer gas and stable/adequate gas flow/pressure must be maintained otherwise the face will contact/wipe and fail almost instantaneously. In a high humid environment, one will need to install an independant buffer gas drying/filtration system. Most of the time above conditions will dictate dry gas seal reliability.
