I am trying to gather information adequate lux readings for empty and full bottle inspections. In our operation we have Electronic bottle inspectors and actual people looking at the bottles and trying to pick up any possible particles or dirt in the bottles before and after the filling process. A question has arisen on the required lux level to conduct this task effectively, ie. looking at the bottles and not hurting the persons eye sight. If there is someone out there that knows of the minimum and maximum values that we could use, it would be appreciated.

It has been a long time since I worked with this sort of thing but the figure of 300 candellas, whatever that equals in Lux, is a familiar one.
