I am interested in introducing my company to the principles of Prognostics (Failure Prediction by ccontinuose monitoring of key metrics). Are there any good success stories published that I could use to show the benefits of a good prognostics program? Specifically one with info like % redution in service calls, $ saved, ROI, etc

Pls inform us what sort of failure prediction are you talking about. Is it predictive maintenance?

Yes Predictive maintenance. Is a pump going to fail in the next two months. Maybe the metric for this would be a noise or vibration change that we know from testing is an indicator of wearout starting.
