If we can get properly representative MTBF from our CMMS, it's already good. To calculate MTBF, we need to get operating time, downtime and no. of failures. Eg, have you used breakdown analysis to get MTBF?

Have you LOOKED through the previous discussions? This subject has been THOROUGHLY discussed TWICE just recently. Suggest you have a look there rather than re visiting the subject all over again!

Hello To All,

Breakdown and failures are not the only cause of downtime in an industry most specially in manufacturing. Thinking of reliability is knowing what losses your equipment is suffering, you might have a high utilization and MTBF yet the speed of your equipment had been reduced otherwise it will propell more problems.

My advise is to first know what problems your equipment is suffering and to designate the correct KPI and maintenance indicators for it.

My Warm Regards,
