Hi

We are currently using a plastic conveyor in our plant for PET full bottles. I am currently having a problem with the conveyor belt breaking up very often. We currently have these belts running on stainless steel and there is not wear strip being used. After some discussions with people, a few of them mentioned a wear strip that we could use to increase the life of the belt and the stainless steel plate. Does anyone know what this wear strip is called? If so please assist...
Thanks!

Couldn't you just rubberize the portion that rubs? Teflon strips would be excellent too I would imagine. You can get teflon in tape form, about 1 inch wide and only 1/4" or so thick. It is sort of pricey, but probably cheaper than replacing belts all the time...and teflon has that natural lubrication going for it too.

High molecular weight Polyethelyne is commonly used for wear strips.
