Dear All,

I thought this may have been of some interest for all of you interested in RCM.

quote:
A suite of Delphi's products is
preparing to enhance the way military vehicles and their electronic systems
communicate. Teams of Delphi engineers are installing customized electronic
sensing and monitoring systems onto a test fleet of Light Armored Vehicles
(LAVs) used by the United States Marine Corps....

The National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) is managing this
collaboration between Delphi and the Marines, as part of its initiative of
Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)....

I thought it may be of interest to the ongoing discussion regarding RCM.

Hi Daryl,

I've recently been informed that Borland has announced intentions to sell their branch "Development Tools" including Delphi, C++Builder, JBuilder among other development tools.

Bernard,

I dont think this is the software developer, rather a company assisting in the RCM implementation to mobile equipment.

Bernard:

Delphi is a part of GM (more or less - they were 'split off' a number of years ago) who manufactures components and parts for the automotive industry.

Borland is a software company with software and database development suites. Within that context, Delphi is a software development tool.

Always fun when large companies all use the same names!

Maybe I throw this in some of my delphi forums and watch the reactions Big Grin

Howard is right about the two different companies. I knew the "other GM" Delphi existed but had no background information.

The Ascent software that comes with the VB3000 analyzer has the look of a Delphi(software application) or at least has been developped with a Borland's developpers suite. Any one to confirm this theory?

Looking at the quote they state Delphi's, which indicate an entity named Delphi
Delphi on the other hand is a registered trademark from Borland
