Hi all,
we have 2 NGL pumps that pump liquid gas from the bottom of NGL absorber column. The pumps have plan 53 pressurised sael arrangement. Suction pressure is Max 40 Barg and temperature is -70 C; however the seal doesn't see that temperature. We are currently using 2 different barrier fluids in the pumps (Aeroshell 41 and 1-Propanol). We want to unify the barrier fluid asap and seal manufacturer is recommending of the following but emphasis on the last one: 1- 1-Propanol or (N-Propyl Alcohol) 2- Clavus 15 3- Royal Purple Does anyone has any experience with any of the three products? I know Aeroshell 41 goes tacky and is no good. I am investigating compatibality of the barrier fluids with product! Rgds Brighton |

Aren't the NGL pumps of the same brand? What are the volumes used for each pump? You can read about Royal Purple if you search internet.

Thanks Josh,
The pumps are the same brands; due to some problem with original barrier fluid and some issues associated with pumps themselves, we tried 2 different products but we want to unify them now; please note I have the MSDS for Royal P but there are some tricks in the industry you can only know from experience; for example Aeroshell 41 goes tacky in the product and is not suitable for NGL application. That's why I asked this question if someone has an experience with Royal P! Cheers |
