Hello,

We have DX (direct expansion)condensing units on our fresh air sections of our AHUs to dehumidify the inlet air, which usually is quite high being on an island and located very close to the sea.

I kindly would like to hear from who has experience on such units what would be the maintenance practices for such units. My concern are the gas leaks which may develop quite unexpectedly. Any suggestions on how to detect this apart from operating pressures monitoring and the traditional leak detection methods. I know that good workmanship during installation plays a very important part but thinking about it has anybody met any failure data for such a failure.

What type of condenser is it? What materials of construction? Any operating parameters?
