I am analyzing the "soft errors", soft error rate (SER), for a MRAM and would like to take that number and roll it up into the FIT rate that I have from an accelerated life test.

Has anyone ever done this before? I do have the data to calculate read/write errors per hour for the memory device but I dont know if I can treat a read/write error as a firm error (failure).

I do realize that a soft error isnt really a hardware failure where it may not cause a failure in the system but how do apply this error rate to the overall FIT rate?
