At the last plant i worked at we purchased a 2120 CSI analyzer that had their Fast-Bal program on it and used it do our process fan balancing. Since then i have moved to a new company and am in the process of settin up some reliability programs, of which fan balancing is one. At this plant in-house vibraition monitoring is not economically feasible so i have been looking for an economical balancing machine to purchase to maintain our fans with. I was hoping that some people on this board could suggest potential manufacturers as CSI's price was out of this world.

Have you considered buying a used older model CSI? Possibly a 2115 or 2110 with fast-bal 1. I use both the 2115 with fast-bal 1 and the 2120 with fast-bal 2 and both are very good balancing programs. I am not really familiar with any other vendors other than the pre-historic IRD 350 and 880 which required using a strobe light for phase angle and drawing your own vector diagrams or just trial and error. Neither of which was nearly as accurate as using a photo tach with a computerized program for single or multi-plane balancing. I am sure there are other vendors that use the same program which might be cheaper than CSI. Just another avenue to think about.

look at www.pruftechnik.com they do a very well priced balancing only version of the Vibscanner. We use this for our field balancing work and it is extremely simple to use even for novices.
