Why are the 2nd and 3rd harmonics of tooth mesh likely to exhibit greater increases than that of the tooth mesh fundamental when a gearbox wears?

How to prevent gearbox wears? Is wear localised or ditributed?

As the wear increases, the time lag for the forward motion and the latent reaction increases cusing a possibility of double impact or triple impact. As the wear propogates, the consequence worsens.
