Hello everyone. The tool I'm currently learning with is the CMVA 60. I'm trying to set up for a bump test (practice) but not on an actual unit. I'm using the MPIN connection. Is there anything else that I need cause it's saying "no trigger". Also how hard should the unit be bumped.

Hello,

You probably need to set up a tach for running speed reference.

I just want to ask if anyone has a bump test wizard for the cmva 60 skf vibration tool and is it capable of collecting relative phase data or do i need special adapters.

I have used CMVA55/60 for 6 years. SKF has come out with GX series recently. As per me it is useful only to the extent of taking two channel data that is up loadable to MA suite. But I find one feature is missing in that which may be very important for a stand alone user/consultancy and that is Force measurement with FRF for Modal testing. You may wait till they update the GX with this feature.Sine you are planning to use as consultant, better go for the one which has Modal testing capability and which can talk to MA as well as MeScope VES.

Hello!!
Is it possible to measure deflection of beams using the CMVA 60 tool. By which the deflection would be synonymous to the displacement value(pk-pk)?
I want to be able to quantify how much a beam is deflecting.

Thanks in advance.

I have used both the CMVA 10 to 60 and the DI line of instruments. When SKF Bought DI they were looking to scoop up there competition. They (SKF) have moved to a closed door policy so they no longer let others interface with their data collectors (not sure if they ever actually let them but they couldn’t prevent them. At one point you could take the DI box (I don’t care what name is on it it’s the same hardware) and wipe out the firmware and lode the DI firmware this would allow you to use the vibe software you wanted to (DMSI Enteck).

I like the Di boxes for routine data collection (especially on area were you have to fight to get in and out of but IF I do my analisation on the data collector as apposed to the laptop a CMVA 60 is a great instrument.

The Comtest box seems to be sweeping the industry it looks like a good box, the selling feature is the lack or support warranty cost of the software (take note CSI users it is a substantial price).

The answer for me would be the Comtest box with an interface to DMSI software.
And one correction for BK they (DMSI) didn’t write the SKF software they wrote Prism pro the expert system

Hadrian I really wouldn’t call a 20 year old software company new?? I mean Microsoft is a little older. They also have an incredible user base and they support is second to none. I have heard that DMSI is licensing the DI box (so they can have there name on it like everyone else) so I don’t feel you would have any issues.
