Hi all, What kind of maintenance we can do to universal joint?

The bearings of one of them failed the last week.

Basic U-joint maintenance:

1) Align shafts (usually shafts can be offset, but must be parallel; also verify shaft end distance)
2) Balance shaft (reduce unbalance force)
3) Coupling Orientation (reduce torsional vibrations)
4) Lubrication (correct type and quantity)
5) Minimize Transient Overloads (shock and torsional vibrations)
6) Review torque and speed ratings to avoid overload
