Dear Gents,

I am analyzing some gaulin homogeniser, and I would like you to share with me your experience. I mean, which are experience you have in problems coming from the crankshaft and affecting the whole equipment? Other issue, it is tipical to monitorize with permanent sensor this kind of equipment, isn´t it? What kind of failure modes you expect to find in these pieces of equipment?

Regards,

Allen

I serach internet and from the results, look Gaulin is the brand. Homogenizer appears to be a mixer or agitator. What model is your gaulin? Which parts of it do you want to monitor?

Allen,

It's been some time since I've monitored these units, but I recall raising the importance of performing time-synchronous averaging, or using demodulated data, so that the bearing vibration amplitudes don't get lost in the crankshaft noise. I don't recall hearing of anyone permanently mounting sensors on these units, but its not a bad idea if they are in a critical application. But more importantly, you first need to establish an effective monitoring strategy that allows you to optimize data collection for the major failure modes, including crankshaft wear, bearing fault frequencies, and balance issues.
