Hi,
I heve been using the UE gun in combination with the SKF Microlog CMVA60 (connected to each other).
I have had good results but there is something i am not sure of. I use the UE guns output as an input to the Microlog. But how do I set up the sensor sensitivity. I left it on 100mV/EU. Should it be something else? 1mv/EU? Or 10mV/EU?
Has anyone some expirience with this?

Kind regards,
Tim

Tim,

Every time you change the range setting on the "UE gun" you are changing the amplification/attenuation and therefore a different v/dB sensitivity is needed. You would have to either keep the same range on "UE gun" or have a different measurement point setup with appropriate sensor sensitivity. In either case you need to Calibrate the setup so the overall level on analyzer matches the meter reading. Why are you going to all the trouble of using this combined setup?

Belgium is SDT country!!

Walt,

It's true that belgium is an SDT country!
For that reason we have ofcourse an SDT within our company.
But also a UE Gun.

I keep the setting in kHz on the gun always the same but i am not sure what kind of signal is coming out of the gun. The gun shown me just a dB value. I did not try yet if the amplitudes change when i set a differente sensitivity on the gun. So i can not compare the overall level on the analyzer.
We tried this combination on slow speed bearings for early bearing damage. I have had some succes on agitator doing 350 RPM. I could be done with an accelerometer but i am just that kind of guy, trying stuff for better results. I also know about piekvue but we don't have a csi equipment...yet...

greetingz and thanks for the explanation..
