Your advertisement here is the same info as listed on your Web site. How can a system/program based on GE and two airline companies be "perfect" for Power Plants? Perhaps you can offer more technical info, which is usually all this Board is really interested in.

Vendor Warning

Thanks for the feedback.

I´m attaching a couple of pdf documents with more technical information.

This technology plus the way the acquired data on site is processed and the additional support for an emergency situation, makes the service provided by the PESS M&D Center a perfect suit for Power Plant application.

The SmartSignal technology has saved millions of dollars to current users by catching incidents, early before they occur. Additionally, there is no need to invest in hardware, the current sensors in the plant provide the necessary data for real time diagnostic.

Unless I missed something, the essence of your case history is:

a) the temperature on one bearing went up
b) it also showed an increase in vibration
c) you recommended that it be inspected during a planned shutdown

What reasonable operator wouldn't have done this anyway? I cannot undestand what value your system brought to this situation

Did you look at other parameters such as changes in 'gap volts' or oil analysis for bearing wear metals?

WARNING
To abelsg and other vendors who start an unsolicited promotional posting at MaintenanceForums.com:

First - most members will reject this method of promotion as an invasion and violation of the spirit and intention of theses message boards. If your marketing program includes alienating some of the best potential customers you can find - you are on the right track.

Second - If your product or service is ready to market why not get a budget to advertise in places where promotion is appropriate. If you have no advertising budget - I would seriously question the validity of your product or service offering. How would the world find out about you without advertising?

Third - we deleted a similar posting over the past weekend and I cannot help but wonder if he was inspired by this post. We will keep this post as an example of what not to do to win the hearts and minds of forum members.

Fourth - challenge - now that you have posted your wonderful commercial - please post something that we can all learn from without having to buy something from your company. That seems like a fair exchange for keeping this post alive and your membership in-tact.

Fifth - There is a For Sale board right on this site and your post would be fine in that section as every subject in that area is a promotion - and that is fine.

Terry O

PS: Vendor comments are more than welcome when they are appropriate to an existing post.

Abel,

Was SmartSignal a result of the automated diagnostic work done out of EPRI in conjunction with some utilities such as Progress Energy?

Does GE have a stake in PESS or SmartSignal?

Did GE and Delta sale this technology?

SmartSignal system is not quite what GE was doing in this direction at GEPS. Similar but not quite the same.

You are also using quite a lot of GE's terminology as well.

Do you have legal rights to do so?
