We have installed a new online condition monitoring system on a corrugating line. The sensors were designed special for this purpose. Are there more who has done this and want to discsus there expierences with me?

It is done to improve the reliability of the machinery in relation with quality aspects.

Also we are now implementating a new lubrication software called Lube IT 4 and Oil Safe cans to achieve a BRC certificate.

What equipment are monitored for vibration and lubrication? Why is your sensor special-purpose?

What does BRC stand for?

I maintain a couple of corrugation lines, but they are 40+ years old, and the closest thing to 'condition monitoring' we use is to put a heat-sensitive sprinkler over them in case they catch on fire. <g>
What kind of monitoring do you use? I can imagine putting vibe sensors on the vacuum pumps, and maybe a torque sensor on the corrugator drive... Oh, if there was a heat sensor that watched the mold blocks that would be pretty snazzy. Do you have that?

Josh,

I found this on the BRC British Retail Consortium Global Standards
It appears to cover Food, Consumer Products, Packaging and Storage & Distribution Suppliers.
