Hi
I would like to know what tests should be performed in a repaired motor to assure the repair was done correctly and motor is running properly. Could you please list a set of tests to be performed/standards of reference. Thanks Motor is: 2250 HP 50 Hz 3 phase 6 kV 330 RPM |

Test to be run depends on what was repaired?

If the repair involved anything that could possibly damage the stator core (e.g. remove rotor, rewedge, rewind), it should be tested for shorted laminations to avoid overheating when put back in service. A loop test at full rated flux or low flux Motor Core Tester from us (ADWEL) could be used.

Hi Claudio. As has been stated, it depends on what has been "repaired".
Has it been rewound? Has it been stripped, cleaned, etc.? So many possibilities. Whilst you have the oportunity on a large motor like this, you should check everything that cannot be checked during service such as insulation - phase to phase and to earth. If the rotor is out, check the wedging on the stator. Check the rotor-bars for cracking at the end-ring joints. Check the bearings. Check everything! You may not get another opportunity for years! |
