Give us a hint. Motor, pump, compressor, gear box, turbine, generator, etc.? 5, 500, or 5000 RPM? Horizontal or vertical? Type of bearings?

Measurement of parameters depends upon the frequency of interest. Genearal guidelines are.
-Measure displacement for machines upto 600rpm.
-for rpm from 600-120000 measure velocity,(RMS or peak)
-For rpm beyond 120000, meaure accelaration also.
Also, it depends whether you want to diagnose bearings failure, pumps or moors problem.
