Does anyone know of any good non-intrusive technicques for checking the security of Low voltage connections. I do not believe that Thermomgraphy is very efficient as the power (heat) is too little. Tightening the connections once per year can do more harm than good.

Any Suggestions?

Do not underestimate the use of IR. I have found many poor connections on 12 and 24Vdc systems using my camera.

Scooby,

The camera I have is sensitive enough to detect the 12 and 24v problems very easily. I can detect the old handprint on the wall for about 9 minutes (no convective air), and can differentiate about .5 deg. F. when I take the time (camera manufacturer says sres .06 deg.)
I believe I would give it another shot with a high end camera. I think you'll be surprised.

Is it really necessary & cost effective to monitor 24V conncetions?

P/s this thread should be trasnferred to the infrared forum.
