So my friends, it finally happened.
In the meantime you can still search the
old posts at http://www.vtab.se/PHP-NBoard/html/index.php

Hopefully everybody from the old board will get the word and switch over. I think you should automatically be redirected here from the old link--I had it bookmarked so you don't know what's going on until you go back to www.reliability-magazine.com.

I'm glad they finally did something about the board, however, I used to visit this one but didn't really like its format, that's why I spent most of the time on the old one. Oh well, change is inevitable.
Hope every one from the old board comes on over.

There are many vib boards on the internet and the old one at reliability-magazine.com was without-a-doubt head and shoulders above the rest. The reason is the huge participation of knowledgeable vibration professionals. I hope we can reestablish that somewhere.

I agree with you Pete the old site was real easy to use and follow. There are a lot of boards like this out there and I never could get into them

I would like to make some recommendations to Terry to help transfer the old audience over here. Just my opinion.

1 - Make a forum named vibration/alignment/balance. We had before plenty of traffic to occupy a full forum on those subjects. Why dilute it with other machine condition monitoring stuff? (Why change a good thing?).
2 - Establish auto-forwarding from the old forum as mentioned above.
3 - Possibly email the old members to let them know about the change if that is allowed.

Also I got a little confused during the login process and I ended up having to re-register I think. Do the old handles/passwords transfer over? If yes than I must have been confused. If not, it would be nice if they did.

I suggest we pass the word of this new location to all the people old board users that we have email addresses for which is what I've done. Unfortunatly, I lost many in a hard drive folder.

Took me a while scratching my head, but finally made my way here. Hopefully other old board members will also head this way.

Found it. Happy to be here although it is a little cumbersome compared to the old board. I also had to register a couple of times before it took hold. I'm sure the quality will improve as more of the old board members arrive.

Change is never easy, but hopefully it will be better. But now I'll have to update our website links ... Roll Eyes

Thanks for the feedback and please keep it coming - these boards are based on the exact same (yet updated) software used by the old boards.

We can set up a new category no problem to match the pure vibration/balancing topic at the RM boards.

Any other suggestions can be posted here or sent to me at tohanlon@reliabilityweb.com.

I am traveling a great deal over the next month so please have patience for changes and updates.

How's it going, Terry?

After posting one new topic, I think there needs to be a way to upload files to a server like on the old board or a way to add multiple attachments (within reason). Sometimes one picture doesn't say enough.

Hey Patrick!

This may seem bulky and I will see about your suggestion right away but...

This board is set up to add a "photo album" to post multiple photos to.

So if you have a 10 photos you could create the photo album, post your topic and then link the album. You creat a photo album the same way you create a new topic - go to new and select photo album.

Please let me know if that works for you.

Hope ASG is treating you very well.

Man, I hate change! I was perfectly satisfied with my old IRD890, DOS, and my 68 Ford truck!
Thanks Terry, for hooking us all up again.
