Hi, I am currently stuck using an older version of Emonitor Odyssey(version 2.2c). I am trying to get my employer to purchase an e-safe contract so that we can have the latest software upgrade, it is not cheap and I have little hope for an approval.

The company had a mandatory switch to XP in January.
I have 2.2c installed on a desktop running XP, according to Entek/Rockwell this cannot be done...hmmmmmm. But, there it is, installed.

The issue I am having is with transferring lists from Odyssey to the cardreader, Odyssey starts to transfer than I get an error message that Odyssey must shut down. Entek/Rockwell says I need version 2.3 or higher. Since 2.2c is not supposed to be able to be installed on an XP paltform and it is, I am not sure I believe them.

I have an Omni Pro card reader. It is installed and works with XP.

Does anyone know a way to get this to work?

I will post more details on the error message if it will help.

Thanks

REJ,

An alternative, as unattractive as it may be, is to load the entire route - then select ‘Train’ & ‘Machine’ on the data collector to obtain needed data rather than go the ‘list’ route.

I hope someone can arrive at a fix for you!

REJ - Have you tried to startup Odyssey in compatibility mode for Windows 2000?

Put an icon on your desktop (if it's not already there) for Odyssey. Right-click it, go to properties, then to the compatibility tab, and check the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for', and select Windows 2000 in the drop-down box.

Can't say for sure that it works (haven't tried it), but it's worth a shot, no?

BTW, Gary F, long time, hope all is well for you!!!

Hey Dave!

Good to see you back on the board and contributing your comprehensive knowledge of the Entek family of products.

If you have not already done so, check back on your other recent post reply regarding Entek software. RRS Dave is hollering at you!

Take care.

Thanks for the replies.

Looks like it was a security issue.

Odyssey folder was write protected.

Company restricts access to C: drive. Able to write lists to card after getting protection removed.
