We are considering moving from time-based maintenance toward condition-based programs on hydroelectric generating plants. We are looking for someone to guyide us through that process. We are looking for the names of people/companies that have a good reputation in this area. Can you help? Thx.

Companies offering good condition-based maintenance products & services for hydrogenerators include the following:
VibrosystM, Montreal - Air Gap Monitoring, Stator Bar Vibration, Core Temp
E-One, Schenectady, NY - Generator Condition Monitor (for detecting overheated stator cores)
IRIS, ADWEL; Toronto, ON - Stator Insulation Condition (Partial Discharge) Monitoring.

There are also several good consultants in the this area. We (ADWEL) have 20 years experience in PD monitoring and would be happy to share our successes and challenges in that area.

All the best to you on your new CBM program. I think you are headed in the right direction.
